About Kaipara Coast Learn To Swim

School Age Child Back Floating

Kaipara Coast Learn To Swim was founded by Cara Emirali, a local mum of two with a passion for making swimming accessible to all.

Cara spent her younger years swimming for North Shore Swim Club where she learned first-hand all the benefits that swimming brings. After Cara’s second child was born in 2013 she started teaching in Learn to Swim programmes, progressing to management level.

When Cara moved to the Kaipara area with her partner and children, she found that Helensville/Parakai had almost everything. There was only one thing missing… a Learn to Swim programme; something that Cara believed would benefit the whole community. Cara set her mind to planning and implementing a fantastic swim school and – voila! – Kaipara Coast Learn to Swim was born.

Kaipara Coast Learn To Swim is dedicated to teaching children and adults to be safe in, on and around the water. Lessons are open to everyone, regardless of age or swimming level.

The highly trained staff at Kaipara Coast Learn To Swim have a strong focus on water safety so everyone has the chance to enjoy New Zealand’s beautiful backyard and participate safely in all water-based activities. Whilst teaching water safety, we ensure the technical skills of all four strokes – freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly – are taught to a high standard, opening pathways for competitive sport.
